The School of Automotive Machinists (SAM)Â really has a knack for keeping busy. Between their ’99 Hugger Orange SS setting the N/A record at 10.5, and their other 4th-Gen Camaro breaking into the 200 MPH Club at the Texas Mile, the students at their school never fail to impress us.
This weekend, Linda Massingill will be making an appearance on PowerblockTV with the very same ’98 Camaro that she piloted to 200.4 MPH at the Texas Mile – the car that made her one of the fastest women in the country. In case you’re wondering how the 15 year-old Camaro accomplished such a feat, the answer would be none other than a 427 cubic inch LSX – built by the students of SAM!
That’s right – these two cars were built mostly by kids aged 18-22, and it proves how good the instructors at SAM really are. For more information about these two project cars, or to find out how you can enroll into the School of Automotive Machinists, head over to their website by clicking here.
The show will air on April 19th and 20th, and will feature Linda with her Camaro, along with PowerblockTV’s project Camaro getting it’s own 427 mill, GM’s plans for the new COPO Camaros, installing a heavy-duty suspension package in their “garage crawler,” and how PowerblockTV upgraded a Dodge RAM with air springs for increased hauling and towing. So if you have some extra time of the weekend, be sure to tune in like us!
