Our friends at RK Motors Charlotte have acquired another exceptional vehicle; a 1937 Chevrolet Business Coupe. Introduced in 1933, the Business coupe also known as the Master replaced the Eagle.
However, the Master was more expensive and luxurious than its predecessors. RK Motors’ recent find is truly a sight to behold.
It has a simple yet classy style that will be sure to turn heads from all generations. A build that began in 2003, Carolina rod enthusiast Benny Proctor’s vision of a classic street rod does not fail to disappoint.
Painted in Mercedes Benz Silver, this particular coupe has been fully restored and also fitted with various modifications. There isn’t anything in particular on this vehicle’s passive exterior but what hides underneath the hood tells another story.
Opening the hood, a 350 cubic-inch GM Performance Parts ZZ4 V8 which cranks out 355 hp and 405 lb./ft. of torque sits quietly waiting. The drivetrain includes a GM 700R4 four-speed automatic transmission, a Ford 8-inch rear axle with 3.55 gears and Flaming River rack-and-pinion steering.
Additional accessories include Hagen headlights, shaved doors, LED tail lamps and a shaved electric trunk. Moreover, there is a custom elegant two-tone leather interior and VDO gauges.
The interior also holds billet foot pedals and door handles as well as a Lokar shifter. The shaved doors are opened via remote Dakota Digital door latches. To top it off, the coupe has a modern touch with hot rod air climate control and power windows.
Overall, the car doesn’t scream out as an eyesore but more so resembles class and elegance. The car channels an old-school feel but is a beast under its passive exterior.
This vehicle may not be a matching numbers car but it definitely stands above the rest with its sleek, classic look. With only one owner, lots of tender loving care and a bevy of custom accessories, we would suggest not to sleep on a custom of this stature.
