If you are an engineering company that develops new suspension components for street rods, hot rods, and musclecars, where do you spend your time? If this video is any indication, the best engineering companies spend their time designing and testing. We found this great in-car video of the sales manager at TCI Engineering getting some test time in at one of the local tracks.

Evan Dalley, one of the talented people that work at Total Cost Involved Engineering, is no rookie when it comes to autocross racing. Competing routinely in the Goodguys Rod & Custom events around the country, Evan consistently places well in every event that he enters with the 1963 “Little Sweetie” Nova.  

TCI Engineering’s Nova test bed has gotten so nimble at the track that Dalley felt he needed to swap out the 406ci engine for a bigger and badder 427ci monster – that and the fact that the 406 blew up after track day at Fontana last year. There is no replacement for displacement however, and the “Little Sweetie” Nova got a lot more sweetness with the bigger big-block.

Just one week ago, the TCI Engineering crew posted up this video showing the vintage Nova in a night time testing session at Adams Motorsports Park in Riverside, California. Testing is hard enough in the best conditions, but taking on the track’s “Time Attack” challenge at night, while testing new components, is a different beast altogether. This video puts you in the drive’s seat to experience what it is like to run in the fast lane.
