The ZL1 – still the highest-horsepower rated Camaro of all time with 580 at the crank. With a few bolt ons, that number shoots up fast!
Who doesn’t love a good dyno video? We can’t get enough of them, and whenever we see a rad car making great power, we get excited like a little kid on Christmas. And this Camaro ZL1 delivers – putting down 700 horsepower to the rear tires and making good use of the LSA that The General has bestowed upon it.Â
Naturally, this car has benefitted from more than an exhaust upgrade and a tank full of premium. In fact, the exhaust has been upgraded with Kooks 1-7/8-inch stainless steel headers, the engine has been fitted with SHP ported and polished heads and a supercharger intake snout, an upgraded fuel system that includes 1100cc injectors, and a completely new valvetrain.
The boys at SHP didn’t stop there, and they improved on the LSA’s supercharger setup by installing a 2.55-inch blower pulley, an AIRAID cold-air intake, and a tune to unleash the horsepower GM had on reserve in the first place.
Oh, and to round out the package is a heat exchanger upgrade and E85 calibration. With the latest in aftermarket hardware, this corn-fed Camaro is ready for anything!
While it may look like any other 'typical' ZL1 on the surface, this example backs up its sinister image with 700 horsepower on tap at the rear wheels, to make for one serious street machine than can also rule the dragstrip or road course.
