When it comes to being the queen of autocross, Mary Pozzi is the gal to beat, and she proved this once again at the Goodguys 13th Del Mar Nationals earlier this month, where she walked away the Pro Class and Goodguys Shootout winner. Check out her amazing second-gen Camaro in the video above, compliments of our friends at the Goodguys Rod & Custom Association.
For years, Mary Pozzi has showed how it’s done in the autocross world and with the help of her highly-modified 1972 Camaro RS, she’s seen plenty of competition wins, titles and industry fame. Ladies and gents, Pozzi is not only the lady to beat, she’s also one of the top autocross drivers to watch in the industry.
For the Goodguys AutoCross competitions, Pozzi competes in the Pro Class, a tall order for anyone to achieve. But Pozzi makes the twists and turns of the course look easy every time she does it. Of course, it helps to have a properly prepared Camaro to drive-one equipped with a combination of RideTech, Detroit Speed, Hotchkis and Global West suspension components, as well as a boisterous 402 Stroker LS2 engine and a T-56 Magnum transmission to boot.
While Pozzi’s competition skills are undeniable, it’s also her skill for putting together epic car combinations that makes her an all-around amazing competitor and winner. But you don’t have to take our word for it. See for yourself what a true AutoCross champion looks like above.
