If during racing season you manage to venture to the track a couple of times, what do you think you will see the most? Odds are you’d see a ton of Foxbody Mustangs, a plethora of Corvettes, and a plentiful helping of Camaros. When you do see the occasional truck, they’re usually late model or not really designed to be at the track.
The truck featured in this video dubbed “Farm Truck Junior” after the TV star truck is something a little bit different. We must say that seeing something new like this super clean C10 is a breath of fresh air. At a first glance, there isn’t much that indicates a 10 second truck, but that’s exactly what they want you to think.
The Chevy features a 406 cubic inch v8 complemented by upgraded heads and a solid roller cam. On motor, the truck pulls in mid eleven second passes, but once a 150 shot is introduced to the equation we see an impressive 10.61-second pass for a boat that weighs in the neighborhood of 4000 lbs.
Even though this is a pretty impressive feat, the owners say that the truck isn’t yet complete. A few tweaks such as less restrictive headers should get that elapsed time down even further.
Perhaps our favorite part of the truck is its ability to pull the front wheels off of the ground consistently, mimicking the original farm truck even further. We would say that the main difference between the two is that our Farm Truck Jr. is a bit more show worthy, making it a bit less of a sleeper. Take from that what you will, I think we all can agree that these are a pair of wicked trucks either way.
