We’ve really been digging on all the awesome LS-powered drag trucks out there lately, so let’s take a trip back to 2012 and take a look at what has to be one of our all-time favorites of the genre – the wicked DBRODS 1968 C10. This video was shot during the 2012 Truck Shootout held annually at the San Antonio Raceway, and the guys from DBRODS brought out their “farm truck” for a right and proper drag strip flogging, and simultaneously gave us all a clear reminder not to judge a book by its cover.
We love how this pickup plays up the whole old-blue-junker theme, with its faded paint and signature “Molotov car-tail” hanging out the non-functional original gas tank. But honestly, this pick-up wouldn’t really be notable if there wasn’t an iron-block 370ci LS that swills E85 and breathes in boost from a big ‘ole honkin’ GT91 turbo resting between the fenders. The power is transferred to a staple TH400 transmission, and on to a Ford 9” rear end that’s suspended by a 4-link rear suspension built by the guys at DBRODS.
