LS Swaps have become so popular, especially with the early Chevrolet cars from the musclecar era, that Rick’s Tanks have designed several stainless steel tanks specifically for these swaps. One of the most demanded fuel tanks for LS swaps is centered around the first generation Chevy II Novas.
Rick’s Tanks has designed a 17-gallon stainless steel fuel tank that works with modern technology to produce a fuel system that supports any type of motorsport activity, including autocross and road racing.
Rick’s Tanks stainless-steel EFI fuel tanks feature a unique baffle system that will control fuel slosh. Each fuel tank has baffles running front to rear, side to side, and surrounding the fuel pickups to eliminate fuel starvation during acceleration and hard braking. As shown in the video, the Chevy II tank operates with twin pickups–one in each corner, to ensure that fuel starvation cannot happen even in the harshest cornering.
These fuel tanks are manufactured with 3/8-inch thick CNC-machined, 304 stainless-steel stock for all mounting flanges, including all fittings, fuel sending units and EFI fuel pumps. These flanges help with a proper seal. All tanks include stainless steel mounting straps and hardware and have a brushed finish for easy up-keep. Best of all, the tanks will accept any aftermarket sending unit so there is no problems with gauges and displays.
As with all the fuel tanks from Rick’s Stainless Tanks, each tank is hand formed from 304-grade stainless steel and TIG welded.
