It is no big secret that for decades, racers and mechanics have been turning to big-block Chevrolet power to decimate their opponents on the strip. The track prowess of the big-block Chevy is undeniable. But in case you are interested in something a little different, how about this insane big-block that we stumbled upon that is destined to propel a small boat at an crazy speed across the open water.

That’s right, this engine is going to be slammed into a 19-foot, open-cockpit jet boat! The engine featured on the Westech Performance Group dyno is capable of powering said drag boat to 150 mph in just 1,000 feet when on the open water. That is some serious power.

The big-block starts with a Donovan block, and utilizes a 12.5:1 compression ratio and twin 1,250 cfm Holley Dominator Carburetors to create an incredible 1,750 horsepower. The engine block was created by Donovan Engineering Company, and they have been making aluminum engine blocks since 1971.

Before you ask, yes it is receiving a shot of nitrous by Applied Nitrous Technology, and also features a Wilson Manifolds billet intake, a COMP Cams 60mm solid-roller camshaft, and DART 11-degree CFE cylinder heads. We can only sit back and watch and imagine what it is like to open the throttle of this big-block. We have to wonder what it feels like to be traveling across the water at 150 mph in an open-cockpit jet boat? The more we think about it, it must be unreal!
