When it comes to producing the perfect sleeper, GM seems to know how to do it just right. Cars like the modern GTO, G8, Trailblazer SS, and CTS-V may not look like much to the average person. However, car nuts like you and I know that these rides pack a serious punch while looking like they’re on their way to pick up the kids from soccer practice or get some groceries from the local store.
When you take one look at this particular Trailblazer, you get the feeling that it will be doing a bit more than picking up some bread and milk. This baby rolled on to the floor of Race Proven Motorsports looking for a little bit of love to set it in motion a little quicker than your average SUV.
Even though the factory LS2 is rated at a respectable 400 horsepower, it just wasn’t enough to please this owner. What happened when the 6.0L wasn’t enough? 408 cubes of iron block seemed more efficient to help to truck reach the its maximum potential. A ProCharger F1R  was strapped to the 408 in order to give it a little more zing. A Holley Hi-Ram intake and LS3 heads were added to the equation for a better flow and on to the dyno it went, making 932 RWHP.
932 seems like a good number, but it was just too close to 1,000 to call it quits. A 50 shot of nitrous was added to get the ‘Blazer over the hump. When all was said and done, the truck put down 1025 to the rear wheels and that is what allows this 4300+ pound truck to have that ever so magical power to put the tires up in smoke faster than Cheech and Chong, as is showcased in slow motion in this video. Just to give you an idea of how quick this thing is now, it managed to muster a 10.0-second pass on less boost when it registered just 785 RWHP. We can’t wait until race season to see this bad boy at the track again!
