Tow Truck Owner Charged in Wild 1967 Chevy Camaro Theft

You’d think owning a classic 1967 Chevy Camaro would be a dream come true. But for one North Carolina man, it’s been a legal nightmare involving multiple arrests, a supposed friend’s betrayal, and, allegedly, a tow truck operator with a very ironic last name. This 1967 Chevy Camaro theft case becomes more complicated as it progresses.

Jeremy Good, owner of LeBleu Towing and Salvage in Rowan County, North Carolina, now finds himself facing four felony charges related to the theft and alleged forgery of a title for a ’67 Camaro belonging to Tim McManus. The story, a tangled web of bad decisions and alleged criminal activity, reads like something out of a movie.

The chain of events started in September 2022. Police arrested McManus for driving without a valid license, and Good’s company, LeBleu Towing, impounded his prized Camaro. Following his release, McManus apparently decided to take matters into his own hands, stealing the car back from the impound lot without paying the fees. This, predictably, led to another arrest, and Good reclaimed the vehicle.

McManus seemingly doing things the right way. He borrowed money from a friend, paid the outstanding fees, and legally retrieved his Camaro. But here’s where the “friend” part of the story takes a dark turn. While McManus was again in jail on an unrelated charge, this so-called friend stole the Camaro from McManus’s driveway and sold it to Jeremy Good, claiming it was to recoup the loan.

When McManus was released (again), he reported the theft. Good, however, claimed he’d been in continuous possession of the car and even allegedly produced a forged title to back up his claim. This is where, to add insult to injury, things didn’t add up for Good.

The alleged forgery, however, couldn’t stand up to the evidence in the 1967 Chevy Camaro theft case. Police body cam footage clearly showed McManus in possession of the Camaro during the time Good claimed ownership.

Now, Jeremy Good, whose last name is looking increasingly ironic, is the one behind bars, facing a $30,000 bond. Tim McManus, presumably, is back behind the wheel of his ’67 Camaro. At least until the next twist in this unbelievable story. It’s a cautionary lesson about trust, the importance of proper paperwork, and maybe, just maybe, choosing your friends – and your towing service – wisely. And maybe staying out of jail!
