We’re just hours away from the start of this year’s Scottsdale Barrett Jackson auction, and the drool worthy cars are all getting lined up to find new homes. Barrett Jackson is famous for having rare and desirable cars go across the block, and this ’69 COPO Camaro certainly qualifies for both categories. It will head across the auction block during the event.

In 1969 Chevrolet built only 69 Camaros with the ZL1 aluminum 427ci motor, all through the COPO (Central Office Production Order) program. This particular Camaro is #9 of the run, and while it may look plane Jane with its dog-dish hubcaps and automatic-on-the-column, it’s anything but.

It’s incredibly well documented and has its Dealer’s Shippers original window sticker, bill of sale, Chevrolet MSO, and other valuable items as well. It was delivered new to  Fred Gibb Chevrolet of LaHarpe, Illinois, the dealer that spearheaded the original concept of an all-aluminum motor ZL1 Camaro.

According to the Cuneen Report by Ed Cuneen of COPO Connection, this specific ZL1 Camaro is considered “one of the finest in existence.” It served for many years as a race car, but was then treated to a cost-is-no-object restoration of NOS parts, incredible body panel fitment, flawless paint, etc, and every last detail was addressed to bring the Camaro back to it’s as-new condition.

Your guess is as good as ours as to what the car will bring, but we feel confident that it will be a a 6-figure number!
