Restoring a car from the ground up takes a lot of time and work, something that the crew of The Build knows plenty about. But once a car starts to take that turn from teardown to restoration, every late-night hour, gash on your hand and broken part all become a little more worth it.

Last week, we watched as the American Modern crew removed the glass from their 1965 Malibu SS, the last step before turning that corner from the teardown process to the rebuild process. And this week, it’s even more progress as the crew removes the body from the old frame and puts it on the rotisserie for some serious tlc. Check it out in the video above.

The term full rotisserie restoration is pretty common among project car builders who strip their cars down to the bare bones to build it from the ground up. But seeing a car actually go through this process is a completely different thing.

For the Malibu, strapping it to the rotisserie was a straight-forward process. Once the old beat-up frame was out of the way, the car was bolted to the rotisserie brackets.

The car also received a set of temporary stabilizer arms for the doors, to prevent any kind of buckling that could occur with the car void of its frame.
