We have to show you this thing! It’s the craziest Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde creation we have ever seen! Take 588 inches of big block Chevy, add 2 really huge turbochargers, add one 1974 Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow, stick them in a big blender and you’ve got this, a 2000 hp high-end dragracing hybrid. This thing looks like something John Force would take to go shopping. The folks over at Pistonheads.com shared the pics with us. We don’t have all of the specifics on the car, but we can tell you that this thing is owned and operated by Matthew Wright and he gets it done in 7.93 seconds at 175MPH! Matthew is the owner of WG racing in the UK.
We were thinking to ourselves, what kind of person cuts up a perfectly good Rolls-Royce to make a top sportsman style drag car out of it? We were also laughing about the widely known motto amongst Rolls-Royce owners, that when you drove a Rolls-Royce you should be able to hear the clock on the dashboard ticking. We can surmise that this Rolls doesn’t race here in the States and if this is any inclination of how they do it overseas, then we had better step up our game over here in the US. That doesn’t mean go outside and cut up your father’s Mercedes, “We’re just saying”… It takes awful deep pockets to build a car of this nature just to race on weekends, let alone a really big pair of coconuts to drive it. Check it out guys, Matthew and his team are planning to come over to the States to attend Drag Week in 2012, it will be the best we’ve got against the best that they’ve got. Don’t forget to visit his website to see a really cool video of this Rolls making a run.
