We spotted this very cool ’66 L-79 Nova on eBay and it is the real deal, a true L-79 matching numbers car. According to the owner, he purchased the Chevy back in 2006, stating it was all original, but it needed restoring.
The seller says the car was restored using all of the original parts right down to the original knee knocker tachometer, pcv valve, and exhaust resonators. This Chevy has its original Protect-O-Plate with the car that helps document its authenticity.
As of this writing, the little deuce has bids over $50k and over 40 bidders, still not meeting the reserve.
This is one of those rare opportunities that comes around only once in a lifetime, so if this is your dream car and you got the dough to lay down, then this could be sitting in your driveway sooner than you think.
The L-79 Novas are near legends among small block Chevy lovers. The power-to-weight ratios were unparalleled.
With only 5,481 units produced in 1966, they were one of the earliest cars rated at more than 1HP per cubic inch.
The L-79 option was a 327 small block rated at 350HP, a close ratio M-21 four speed, and a 3:31 geared 12 bolt posi traction rear end, making it a real strong contender against all the big block powered cars of that era.
