If you’ve been restoring a classic Mopar, a classic Chevy or Pontiac, or a modern Chevrolet musclecar, then you’re likely connecting with Classic Industries for its massive catalog system of restoration and replacement parts for said vehicles. We’ve seen some incredible builds over the years, including modern and classic musclecars, and this year’s inspiring Yenko tribute on a 2017 Camaro just shows what’s possible when great minds and great cars get together.

This build, on the sixth-gen platform, combines parts and styling to create an 800 horsepower “what could’ve been” Yenko SC had old Don been around today to build it. That’s where Ed Hamburger and Specialty Vehicle Engineering stepped in to build a car that works on today’s modern electronics and powertrains, but has a hint of the musclecars from an era gone by.

The stripes give the car away as a modern Yenko, with updated Torque Thrust type wheels, but under the hood is a different story.  Nearly doubling the power of the original, but doing so with a supercharger and modern fuel injection, this Yenko SC hits the dyno at about 800 horsepower from its custom-built 416 cube LT1.

Also hanging out in the Classic Industries booth was none other than Jefferey Allen and Eric Ables, better known to their many fans as 2/3 of The Car Chasers on CNBC television.

So what do they have in common with Classic Industries? As Jeff attests to, they build lots of cars on the show, and when it comes to finding parts, there’s the old way of removing a part, cleaning it up, and spending an arm and a leg having it rechromed or refinished just to reuse it. Or, as he prefers, a simple call to Classic Industries and a credit card puts the part in a box and on its way to the shop, where Eric can get to work on finishing up the car.
