In this new video by the fellas over at 1320 Video, we get to see the H8R MKR, or “PumpKing,” taking on some of the other ungodly-fast rides that show up to the Texas 2k half-mile roll-racing event.
This year seemed a lot more competitive in terms of horsepower, almost like 1,500 HP is the new 1,000 HP. Making over 1,000 horsepower on an LS engine isn’t anything new, but it’s sure a milestone. After 1,000 is made, the data is there to build the engine for more horsepower. For those of you that aren’t familiar with this Atomic Orange ‘Vette, it packs a 408 cubic-inch iron block, completely reworked heads, a ProCharger F1-X, and two stages of nitrous. With an estimated power number of 1,350 to the tires with both nitrous kits activated, the H8R MKR sounds like it would put hair on anyone’s chest.
First, we see the H8R MKR line up against a blue Nissan GT-R that is putting 1,000 horsepower to the ground. As the two are driving to the starting line, the owner of H8R MKR almost gets the car a little too sideways while getting on the gas, showing the GT-R owner exactly what he’s up against. Once they pass the starting line, it’s easy to see that the GT-R is no match. H8R MKR’s next victim was a 700 horsepower Corvette ZR1, which also was no match for the Atomic Orange terror.
The last race in the video shows H8R MKR going up against ETS’ 1,700 HP GT-R which just pulled away from the ‘Vette upon crossing the starting line. H8R MKR and all its 1350 horsepower glory were no match for the insanely high-powered GT-R. D3 Performance Engineering is prepping the car for TX2k15, so expect some surprises from H8R MKR.
