Many of us have made promises to our parents at some point in our lives, particularly regarding incentives to be endowed upon them when we open our first business, win the lottery, make our first million, etc! It’s our way of promising to remember them and how much they did for us when we make it big in life. But rarely do we see such a promise play out on as big of a scale as Mike King’s promise to his dad. Check out the results of that promise in the video above, compliments of NY Daily News.

Back when King was 8 years old, he promised his dad that he would get him a ’57 Chevy for his 57th birthday. According to information on King’s YouTube channel, his father grew up poor in a family of seven and never really thought that he would own his dream car, a 1957 Chevy.
Intent on making his father Roger King’s dream come true and keeping his early promise, King put in extra hours at work to purchase the ’57 Bel Air seen in the video before. Ironically, King actually purchased the car two years ago and kept it hidden while he continued to keep his father’s dream alive by showing him pictures of the car from the sale posting he had picked it up from.
Once his father received the car and maybe began to believe his dream come true a little more, King posted this video of Roger’s reaction, which generated over 11 million views in just 10 days, as well as an outpouring of support. Because of this, King has opened a “gofundme” account for those who have reached out and wanted to contribute to financing the car moving forward.
He has also promised that he will have an update video up on his YouTube channel soon, so stay tuned as this heartwarming story that’s reached all over the world continues!
