There are certain areas of the nation that seem to be hot spots for all things automotive. Hot rods and muscle cars seem to thrive when it comes to the area surrounding the Greenville- Spartanburg area of South Carolina. On any given weekend, enthusiasts can enjoy fun and frolic at one of the many car shows that pop up around the area. One event that is growing in popularity is a small, but well-attended show by the Buncombe Antiques Mall in Taylors, South Carolina.
This Chevy Fleetmaster looked the part with patina and a faux wicker/woodgrain treatment.
Our local resident lensman, Mike Slade visited the event to document the quality, and spectrum of the Bowtie brand’s cars in attendance. This is an open car show, and any make and model of automobile is welcome, but as you can see, Chevy seems to be the fan favorite for enthusiasts in this part of the nation. And that’s just fine by us!
Street machines, custom trucks, Corvettes, and restored muscle cars resided next to some late-model muscle so enthusiasts had plenty to feast their eyes upon, no matter their tastes.
Not only was there a broad span of years represented, but the various styles of the builds ranged from full-on restorations to pro-street monsters. There were vintage trucks, modern muscle, and even Corvettes sprinkled throughout Buncombe Antiques Mall’s lot. Inside the Mall, there were also over 50 vendors selling all kinds of merchandise. Tunes kept attendees’ toes tapping and a 50/50 drawing and numerous trophies gave lucky recipients something to take home.
All in all, the show at the Buncombe Antiques Mall was a great place for Chevy enthusiasts to spend the afternoon of June 10th. There is another event planned for September 2, 2023, so if you’re in the area, be sure to stop by and take in all the sights and sounds on display. Here are a few of the cars that caught Mike’s eye, and be sure to check out the gallery to see many more of the Chevrolet autos that were in attendance.
