Heidts Sets The Foundation With New Tri-Five Chevy Frame

Heidts Automotive Group continues to engineer great suspension parts for hot rodders and enthusiasts of the Tri-Five Chevy.

The Heidts Automotive Group has been engineering products for hot rods for more than 30 years, and the company has stayed true to their roots by developing a new frame for the Tri-Five Chevy.

Heidts director of engineering and operations, Todd Westberg, gave us the rundown on the new frame. “The new Tri-Five Chevy frame comes with our PRO-G suspension on the front,” he stated. “In the back, there are a couple of options, depending on what you want. You can get a four link or independent rear suspension.”

The frame comes as a complete turn-key unit, from wheel-to-wheel and hub-to-hub,” he said proudly. “The base unit comes standard with Wilwood 11-inch rotors and brakes, with 12 and 13-inch upgrades available. The frame rails are TIG welded 10-gauge steel,” Westberg said. “Our base front suspension kit, manual or power-assissted rack-and-pinion steering, adjustable coil-overs, two-inch drop spindles, and a 1 1/4-inch sway bar are also included in the base frame kit.”

The frame uses stock body locations so all that needs to be done is drop a 1955, 1956, or 1957 Chevy body on the frame.

He assured us that anyone wanting to use the frame for autocross applications could get the IRS frame kit option for an even smoother ride. Heidts also offers other accessories like fuel tanks and brake lines too.
